Opening night of a three-week tour with Roy Orbison. At some point on the tour, Orbison graciously stepped aside and let the Beatles close the show as headliners.
Roy Orbison recalled: "Brian [Epstein] said, 'Who should close the show?', and John said, 'You're getting all the money, so why don't we close it?' I don't know whether that was true or not, whether I was getting that much more than they were. I certainly wasn't getting that much - and the tour had sold out in one afternoon."

"We sat nicely in our seats until [sic] came on stage, when we stood and screamed our heads off and could hear hardly anything! I was fan number 114 in the original fan club. I was 14 at the time and it seems another world away.
Liz Taylor"
