"It was April 1963, and Please, Please Me was at #1. The Beatles were fulfilling an engagement to appear at the Music Hall, Shrewsbury. My classmate's father was the head security guard (bouncer) and he got us backstage. Lennon wore glasses (not common knowledge at that time), and a grey collarless jacket. We got autographs (the photo still has pride of place on a shelf at home) and generally stood around in awe, as local news media did the expected news interviews. Ringo went off to a private balcony to watch a local band play and I followed him. I remember chatting with him about the band and answering some questions about the local music scene."

"The Beatles Signed Parlophone Promo Card 1963. A black and white Parlophone promotional card autographed on the reverse by The Beatles in blue ballpoint pen. The top tip of the 'S' in Starr is missing. The signatures were obtained on April 26th 1963 at the Music Hall in Shrewsbury, England. Comes with a letter from the original recipient. The reverse of the card has been professionally cleaned. Measures 9.25cm x 14.5cm (3.6 inches x 5.8 inches). The picture side of the card is in very good plus condition and the signature side is in near mint condition."
